I'm not sure how to turn off the night searchlight. I press tilda but it still stays on.
 I also tried to find the key map for it (test with a different key) but failed.

Ambush order disable all lights. But if IR projector is off tankcrew cant see through sights

Well, they can, but only if the enemy is using their IR lights. It's a very effective tool for ambushes, I've found.
